Having a local bank account is essential to receive your pay, make local and international transfers and pay bills. We offer fully-featured chequing and savings accounts to meet your everyday banking needs.
First, select the account that’s right for you and fill in the information required on the application form. Please note the identification and deposit requirements on page 3.
Then, when you arrive on island, just drop by our Reid Street Banking Centre in Hamilton with your form to complete the application process.

Once you have opened your Butterfield account(s) you can bank at any of our three conveniently located Banking Centres.
We highly recommend that all new customers sign up for a Butterfield Debit Mastercard and Butterfield Online Internet banking services. The Butterfield Debit Mastercard gives you access to your account(s) island-wide through Butterfield’s network of ATMs and allows you to make purchases locally, internationally and online via direct debit from your account. Butterfield Online offers you secure, 24/7 access to your accounts from anywhere you have an Internet connection, and if you opt for the ability to send wires, you can easily transfer funds to personal or family accounts back home.
