Sean Smatt Named SVP, Corporate Banking, Bermuda
Hamilton, Bermuda—7 March 2013: The Bank of N.T. Butterfield & Son Limited (“Butterfield”) today announced that Sean Smatt has been appointed Senior Vice President, Corporate Banking. He was previously Senior Vice President, Group Insurance & Funds at Butterfield.
In this role, Mr. Smatt will be responsible for the development and day-to-day management of Butterfield’s Corporate Banking business in Bermuda.
Mr. Smatt joined Butterfield’s Corporate Banking department as a Vice President in March 2008. Prior to that, he was Director of Benchmark Bond Issuance at Groupe Credit Foncier in Paris, with responsibility for capital markets operations, and he held management and analyst roles at local and international financial services firms.
Mr. Smatt holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Cornell University.
