Michael Collins Joins Butterfield as EVP, Corporate Development

The Bank of N.T. Butterfield & Son Limited (“Butterfield”) today announced that Mr. Michael Collins has joined the Group as Executive Vice President, Corporate Development.  In this role he will work with the Board of Directors and the management team on a number of strategic initiatives involving product development, revenue opportunities and risk management, among other areas. 

 

Mr. Collins has close to 25 years’ experience in financial services, having held progressively senior positions, at JP Morgan in New York and later at Bermuda Commercial Bank and HSBC in Bermuda.  He was most recently Chief Operating Officer at HSBC Bank of Bermuda.

 

Mr. Collins holds a BA in Economics from Brown University.

 

Alan Thompson, Butterfield’s President & Chief Executive Officer said, “We are pleased to welcome Michael to the Butterfield family.  He brings with him a depth of experience in international and Bermudian financial services, as well as strong leadership skills that will be assets to our organisation.  He will be a strong complement to our already strong management team.”

 

Michael will be based in Bermuda, where he currently resides with his wife and five children.
