The Bank of N.T. Butterfield & Son Limited (“Butterfield”) today announced that it will donate $25,000 each month to a registered local charity under the new “Butterfield Hope Award” initiative.
Bradford Kopp, Butterfield’s President & CEO said, “These are challenging times for many people in our community, and, more than ever, Island residents are seeking assistance and support from local charities just to make ends meet. In order to better help the organisations that are helping those in need, we have launched the Butterfield Hope Award, which focuses the Bank’s corporate giving efforts on assisting one deserving cause each month.”
Michael Collins, Butterfield’s Senior Executive Vice President, Bermuda said, “Donations—and the helping hands of our employee volunteers—will be given to special projects or programmes that deliver a significant benefit in the area of human services to people in the local community. For example: meal programmes, family services to assist children and adults, or neighbourhood development programmes that help build healthy communities.”
Registered charities are invited to apply for the Butterfield Hope Award in writing at www.bm.butterfieldgroup.com or by contacting Edwina Bowen at 298 5543. The application deadline is 5:00 p.m. on the last Friday of each month. Applicants will be advised of the acceptance/rejection of their applications directly within three weeks following receipt. The first Butterfield Hope Award will be awarded in February 2011, the application deadline for which will be Friday, 28 January 2011.
