Butterfield Bank presents winning Young Saver with MacBook laptop

Butterfield Bank presented the lucky winner of our Young Savers MacBook laptop giveaway – Stacy-Lee Tamara Lynn Smith – with a voucher for a new computer on Friday, 7 September.

Miss Smith’s name was chosen at random from a list of 1,200 Young Savers who opened Butterfield Bank savings accounts for children between 31 May and 31 August 2007.

Lloyd Wiggan, Senior Vice President, Retail Banking, congratulated Miss Smith on Friday for signing up with Young Savers, adding how important it was to start saving at the earliest age possible.

“Any young person in Bermuda, between the ages of 10 and 18 years old can open a Young Savers account with as little as $20,” Mr. Wiggan said. “With no service charges, this product is aimed at teaching young people the importance of money management and saving from an early age. Butterfield Bank created Young Savers specifically to help young people learn about saving money and how to spend it wisely.”

Young Savers will receive: interest on their account balances; a Youth ATM card that allows them to make deposits and withdraw up to $200 per day at ATMs; access to their account through Butterfield Direct Telephone Banking; as well as a calculator, notepad and pen gift set to help them manage their money.
