Butterfield Bank Receives MasterCard Award for Operational Excellence

Yesterday, The Bank of N.T. Butterfield & Son Limited (“Butterfield Bank”) was awarded a Regional Quality Award for excellence in operational achievements from MasterCard Worldwide. This annual award acknowledges excellent performance in key service areas impacting cardholder experiences.

 

Butterfield Bank was one of just 10 MasterCard-issuing financial institutions in Latin America and the Caribbean to be recognised.

 

Susan Mylchreest, Vice President of Electronic Banking at Butterfield Bank, said: “We are delighted to be recognised by MasterCard for our operational achievements.  We have made great strides in service quality and operating efficiency thanks to the care and dedication of our employees who work very hard to make things run smoothly for our cardholders.”

 

MasterCard Worldwide established the Regional Quality Awards programme to acknowledge issuers who have achieved exceptional operational performance in MasterCard Regional Quality Standards. Regional Quality Award winners must meet stringent standards, including measures of cardholder satisfaction at the point of sale through authorisation of transactions, call referral rates, and chargeback performance. Award winners are determined in the first quarter of each year based on prior year data. Winners must have annual authorisation transaction counts of greater than one million and be compliant with all MasterCard rules.
