Stock Option Trusts

Stock Option Trusts (SOTs) have long been used by publicly traded corporations to reward key
employees for past service and link their future compensation to the performance of the corporation.


Non-publicly traded corporations that are willing to spread ownership among key employees also use
these trusts. Stock options are an ideal method for companies to motivate executive and management
