Credit Card Security: Safe & Secure Online Shopping

MasterCard SecureCode is a simple and secure way to pay at thousands of online stores. A private code known only to you and your bank, your SecureCode enhances your existing MasterCard account by protecting you against unauthorised use of your card when shopping online at participating online retailers using your Butterfield MasterCard cards.


The next time you checkout at a participating online merchant, you will be asked to either create a new SecureCode or to input your existing SecureCode before completing the purchase.

 
Important Notice – Verified by Visa & MasterCard secure code users.

Effective Monday, 19 July 2010, our processors will be migrating to a new host for cardholders who are enrolled in Verified by Visa and MasterCard secure code.

 

Cardholders currently using Verified by Visa and MasterCard Secure Code will not have to re-enroll, but they will be prompted to re-create their user password the first time they login to the Verified by Visa or MasterCard Secure sites or, conduct an internet transaction at a participating merchant.

 

The words contained in the prompt will notify cardholders that the password updates are part of an upgrade in backend systems for increased user security.

Step 2- Use Your SecureCode at Checkout

Every time you pay online at participating retailers, you will be automatically prompted to enter your own private SecureCode - just like entering a PIN at the ATM. In seconds, you gain added protection while shopping online.


Step 3 - Shop Smarter

Look for the MasterCard SecureCode logo when shopping at participating online retailers.
